Think Housing Build Accessible
The Irish Wheelchair Association has asked us to support their Think Housing Build Accessible national campaign, calling for a review of the Part M 2010 (Section 3 Access & Use) of the Building Regulations, by signing its online petition at this link: www.iwa.ie/buildaccessible
The campaign is highlighting the absence of wheelchair accessible homes to rent or buy in Ireland and is calling on the government to review the building regulations and increase wheelchair accessibility standards from visitable to liveable.
Currently the regulations only require new dwellings to be wheelchair visitable and not liveable, therefore the lack of availability of wheelchair liveable housing to rent or buy in every county.
