
Boakai Abu Nyehn
Director
Boakai is a dedicated disability rights advocate, community leader, and experienced administrator with over a decade of experience in both Liberia and Ireland. A polio survivor himself, Boakai brings a powerful combination of lived experience and professional expertise to his work in disability advocacy and support services. Currently serving as Receptionist Administrator at Depaul Spire Hostel, he plays an active role in service charge monitoring and maintaining financial records. In his previous role as Assistant Director and Programme Officer at the Group of 77 Disabled Centre, in Liberia, Boakai contributed to policy advocacy, programme oversight and representation of people with disabilities at national and international levels. He has successfully developed and implemented community-based initiatives that improved education and livelihoods for disabled people and has also raised significant funds, including $10,000 for disability programmes.
Boakai’s work also includes youth-led environmental and community projects, and ongoing advocacy with groups such as ILMI and MASI Voices for Persons with Disabilities in Ireland. He wishes to contribute his skills and knowledge to strengthen the organisation and ensure that the voices of people with disabilities are heard and respected.
