Alan Raftery on Wills at Mayo & Sligo SSGs

Members in Mayo and Sligo SSGs welcomed solicitor Alan Raftery from Holohan Lane LLC at their most recent meetings to give a presentation on wills. Alan also touched on Power of Attorney, and the vital importance of well thought-out and considered forward planning.

Mary Ryan, Mayo Convenor reported “it was really enjoyed by the group, as Alan was very down-to-earth and explained everything in layman’s terms.”

Understanding that it may be a subject of interest to the wider membership, both groups extended an invite to members who do not usually attend the social support group meetings, and their guests. This resulted in a good turnout at both meetings.

These two groups, and others, have expressed an interest in having a tax consultant come to give presentations on inheritance tax. Nuala, the Member Engagement Officer for the Northern Region, is currently working along with Emma to source someone appropriate to do that.
