DFI Workshop – Disability and Poverty – Lived Experiences
As part of the UN International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (October 17th), DFI is hosting a participatory workshop for self-advocates and support staff.
Disability and Poverty- Telling it as it is.
- Date: October 9th
- Time: 11:00am – 2:30pm
- Location: DFI Offices, Fumbally Court, Dublin 8 (D08 TXY8)
- Refreshments and light lunch provided
Purpose: - To hear directly from people with disabilities about their lived experiences of inadequate State supports.
- To gather insights, in a fun and engaging way, on the real challenges faced and what needs to change.
- To support ongoing advocacy, including the campaign for a Cost of Disability Payment and wider improvements in income and State support.
Outcome: - Discussions will be facilitated in a safe, supportive environment.
- Feedback will be anonymised.
- Key points will be recorded through notes and a graphic illustration, which will be framed and shared publicly on October 17th as evidence of participants’ voices.
Registration: - Places are limited (max 25 participants).
- Personal Assistants (PAs) and frontline staff are welcome.
