Post Polio Support Group is delighted to feature in this article in the Irish Medical Independent, ahead of World Polio Day 2016, on Monday 24th October.
Many aspects of polio are covered, including the Irish experience, particularly for Polio Survivors, the campaign to end polio and the issues around reaching global eradication.
“Polio is a horrible disease and the world will be a better place without it,” Prof Williams tells the Medical Independent.
Our members can certainly attest to that and our activities around World Polio Day 2016 will focus on reminding the public of the need to rid the world of Polio, while not forgetting the 7,000 Irish Polio Survivors it has impacted on, who still live with the late effects of the disease.
