Hospital Saturday Fund assists PPSG
Grant towards Winter Heating Grant
The Post Polio Support Group is very grateful to the Hospital Saturday Fund for their recent grant of €7,000 towards our Winter Heating Grant for Polio Survivors. The Winter Heating Grant helps over 300 Polio Survivors and the Post Polio Support Group relies completely on grants and fundraising to be able to provide this to those who really need it.
As a result of their condition, people who had Polio usually as children, can develop a severe intolerance to cold. This greatly increases the cost of their heating bills during the cold winter months, often they would need to switch the heating on in the middle of the night and sometimes would go to bed early to keep warm.
The grant we are able to provide can hugely alleviate the financial worry of keeping warm. We really appreciate the generosity and support of the Hospital Saturday Fund.
Some of the recent comments from our recipients:
“To Everyone Concerned, Thank you all very much for this marvellous help at this time of year.”
“I really need this help. Thank you.”
