Conference Keynote Speaker
We are delighted to have Professor Rose Anne Kenny, award-winning physician and researcher, as keynote speaker at the upcoming Annual Conference and AGM to be held in June.
Professor Kenny is Head of the academic department of Medical Gerontology at Trinity College Dublin since 2006. She is the founding Principal Investigator of The Irish LongituDinal study on Ageing (TILDA).
Recently the Irish Gerontological Society held an online lecture, “as young as you feel” with Professor Rose Anne Kenny. Prof Rose Anne Kenny believes that “Attitudes influences how young we all feel”. This statement changes everything we know about aging. Prof Rose Anne Kenny questions, is it really our biological processes that speed up aging or is it our lack of exercise, poor sleep, diet, and relationships a big part of the process too?
Lastly she highlighted the importance of our relationships with others, food, sleep, and ourselves in respect to aging.
These pieces of advice are not standalone they all enhance each other. For example, better social relationships lead to having a bigger purpose.
It is never too late to start caring about our health and we greatly look forward to hearing more from Professor Rose Anne at the Conference in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel on the 16th of June.
