Bid on Painting for Polio Survivors
Sean Mac Diarmada Painting Online Auction
The Portrait of Sean Mac Diarmada, 1916 Signatory and Polio Survivor is currently up for auction with Morgan O’Driscoll, who has kindly agreed to include the painting in an online auction which closes for bids on the evening of Monday 13th March 2017.
The Portrait was presented to the Post Polio Support Group (PPSG) by artist Carol Quinn Wallace (pictured below with Fran Brennan, CEO) and is a beautiful rendering of the distinguished Irish Patriot and Revolutionary, as part of her ‘A Nation Rises’ exhibition. The Post Polio Support Group is thrilled to have this special link to Sean Mac Diarmada commemorated, with the donation of this painting. We are keen to raise funds from it’s auction, which will help provide services and support to Polio Survivors in Ireland.
If you are interested in bidding you can do so here – the painting is Lot No 261 and we would truly be honoured to not only have this lovely work go to an appreciative home, but also with such a significant gift supporting our work financially.

How we help
We provide Polio Survivors with stair lifts, callipers, bespoke footwear, electric scooters and wheelchairs. We also help Survivors access Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Respite Breaks, as well as other supports. The group works to raise awareness, provide information on Polio and its late effects and to ensure Polio Survivors can live with dignity.
