We Need Our Heads Examined launches
Launch of “We Need Our Heads Examined” calling for immediate action on rehabilitation services
Today the Neurological Alliance of Ireland and fifteen of its member organisations will launch a campaign “We Need Our Heads Examined”, calling for investment in rehabilitation services.
There is a dire shortage of rehabilitation services in Ireland for the 25,000 people with neurological conditions each year who need them. Without rehabilitation, people suffer preventable disabilities, cannot return to work and young people are forced to live in nursing homes because there is nowhere else for them to go.
The campaign is calling for immediate action on rehabilitation services after a decade of broken promises which has seen no investment and no progress despite the publication of a National Neurorehabilitation Strategy in 2011.
