James Doorley

James has over thirty years’ experience of working with community and voluntary organisations, as both a volunteer and paid staff member. James is currently Secretary General of the Irish Chamber of Shipping. Previously he was Deputy Director of the National Youth Council of Ireland, and also worked with the Disability Federation of Ireland supporting disability organisations in the North East region.
James is a member of the Senate of the National University of Ireland and is a Non-Executive Director of the Residential Tenancies Board. He is also Chair of Maynooth University Audit & Risk Committee and is Chair of the North Leinster Money Advice and Budgeting Service. James has qualifications in social studies, law and corporate governance. James has extensive experience of developing and implementing advocacy campaigns on a range of issues and also working with Government and State bodies. James is originally from Tipperary, but now lives in Meath.
James was appointed to the Board as a Board Nominated Director in 2019 and currently serves on the Board’s Governance & Compliance Sub-Committee and the Board Nominations Sub-Committee.
